My grandmother Cynthia Davis Greene passed away in 1988 of breast cancer, two years before I was born. She was just fifty-eight years old, and I never had the opportunity to meet her.

My grandmother was born on October 12, which is the same day as this year's Chicago Marathon. Last year, I ran in the Richmond Marathon, my first. I ran in Richmond for myself. This time around, I'm running for my grandmother and the millions of other women that have suffered from breast cancer.

I chose to run with Bright Pink because they provide educational services for women to help educate them about breast and ovarian cancer and how they can detect these awful diseases at an early, non life-threatening stage.

Help me support Bright Pink by making a donation. The process is fast, easy, and secure. I truly appreciate any support you can provide. I also ask that you tell your friends and family about my mission so that they may contribute as well.

Thanks so much, and I'll see you at the finish line.
